Joshua Orwa Ojode… the MP for Ndhiwa and assistant Internal Security minister, first went to Parliament in 1994 through a by-election caused by the defection of Mr Tom Obondo to Kanu from Ford Kenya.

Unlike most MPs from Nyanza, he does not shy away from taking a different position to Prime Minister Raila Odinga, which has earned him friends and enemies alike.

His towering figure and authoritative voice has earned him the nickname, Serikal (Government). He plays his cards close to his chest.

James Rege… the MP for Karachuonyo is known as the e-MP because of his technological wizardry.

The first timer who always carries an iPad holds bachelors and masters degrees in electrical engineering from the George Washington University in the United States.

He worked for Iridium, a global satellite communications business, and was the first managing director of Vodacom Tanzania.

Otieno Kajwang’… the MP for Mbita is renowned for his theatrical and oratorical skills which have seen him become a choirmaster in many political campaigns.

A staunch supporter of Mr Raila Odinga and the ODM, he was appointed Minister for Immigration after the 2007 General Election.
