Why can’t Kenyan reality stars just get along?

Last Sunday saw the first eviction of a Kenyan contestant in the Big Brother Africa Stargame — Malonza. Unlike other nominees, Malonza had no clue that he was in the nomination list, so he was not really ready to go home. But one of his best friends, South Africa’s Keagan, who was head of house, had betrayed him.
“When I got nominated, I replaced myself with Malonza,” Keagan said in a very casual manner during last Sunday’s eviction show.
Within minutes, Big Brother had ordered Malonza to place his bags in the store room like the rest of the nominees. A few minutes later, live show host IK ordered all the nominees to stand up. Prezzo was safe, and so was Kyle from Uganda, but when Malonza’s name was mentioned, he was evicted, and later, Namibia’s Junia, who happened to be Malonza’s love interest, followed.
“I was in a state of confusion, first because Keagan had replaced himself with me, then in a matter of minutes, I’m out of the game,” said Malonza after the show.
That was betrayal number one, if you chose to look at it that way.
And then Monday’s nomination session turned into a real shocker for Kenya in particular. Alex decided that his first nominee for possible eviction tonight is fellow countryman Prezzo. His reasons? “Prezzo is too selfish,” explained Alex to Big Brother.
But he does not stop there, he has been using every moment to say unflattering things about the rapper starting with his music.
“Kenyans don’t even like his music, that is why he does not make much money out of music.”
Like crabs in a barrel, it is everyone for himself but it is believed a woman led to the tension between the two Kenyans.
Prezzo might be kicked out of Big Brother because of defending his love Goldie.
For those who watched the show after the nominees were announced, Prezzo found Goldie crying in the kitchen late at night.
Seated near her was Alex. Goldie told Prezzo that Alex had told her she looked ugly with make-up on her eye lashes.
A hot argument ensued between Alex and Prezzo.
“Never comment on anything about my woman,” Prezzo shouted at Alex.
“Even when I have my own opinion on something? I think I have a right to speak my mind in this house,” Alex retorted.
“Yes, if you have an opinion about my woman, keep to yourself,” Prezzo said firmly. Before it could lead to a fight, which would have seen them contravene the Big Brother house violence rule, Goldie stepped in to calm the situation.
That sparked tension that may cost Kenya a chance at the Big Brother jackpot as all signs point to Prezzo coming home on Sunday night and Alex has yet to establish himself as a serious contender although his flying under the radar has seemed to help him get this far.
Asked what he thought about his brother voting against a fellow countryman, Malonza was surprised it had happened. But he quickly defended his brother.
“Whoever Alex nominated, he had his own rightful reasons to do so,” said Malonza. “I’m out of the house, but I’m happy that I have a representative in the house, my brother Alex, and not Prezzo.”
