My brother paid Kenya Power the full installation cost for an electricity line to his home in July last year.

Surprisingly, to date, the installation is yet to be done despite our frequent visits to the firm’s offices to enquire on the matter.

Our home is just 10 metres from the Kenya Power utility post in Kaaga area, Meru District. The E No is 25302010060395.
Please follow this matter for me.

Hallo Kimathi,

Thank you for your email and most important, it is kind of you to take the trouble of following up the problem of power installation on behalf of your brother. It shows that you care.

We have contacted Kenya Power several times regarding this issue and just like you, the company seems to have ignored our pleas for an answer.

The latest in the series of emails to Kenya Power was on 31 May, after which we gave the firm some time hoping that it responds.

None of our emails has ever been answered. In our view, it is inappropriate for the firm to treat its customers this way.

It hurts more when one has met his/her part of the obligation. Hopefully, the courts can assist you to get the services you deserve from the company.

Ask for new battery at fone express Nakumatt store in Kisii

I bought a Samsung phone SGH-L-700 model on 25 June, 2009. I misplaced its battery in July 2011 while moving house.

The Fone Express outlet where I bought it in Kisii town has been unable to assist me to buy a replacement. Please tell me where I can get this battery.
— J. Martim

Hallo Martim,

We are glad that every so often, you read this column. Unfortunately, as simple as the answer to your question may seem, we took time contacting Samsung to give us directions on the right shop where you can get a replacement of your phone battery.

This is because as one of our valued readers, it is our responsibility to give you the appropriate information so that you do not fall prey to counterfeit products, which are prevalent in the mobile phone accessories market.

In response, the phone maker advised that you check the battery at Fone Express located within the Nakumatt store in Kisii town.
