This week started on a horribly miserable note with the passing on of the legendary Whitney Houston.

Even the most tone deaf cannot fail to be awed by Whitney’s vocal prowess.

It is rare to meet someone who owns a dramatic mezzo-soprano voice that can soar five octaves and sell over 170 million records.

In the last few years, 'The Voice’ has been reduced to a pale shadow of herself.

Tales of her bizarre behaviour include her scaring her nieces with her toothless smile. (Yes, she lost her beautiful teeth AND her replacement dentures to her coke habit.)

If the whole world were to take a poll, they would blame Bobby for Whitney’s decline and her eventual tragic demise.

However, Whitney’s story is the rather extreme tale of the bad boy phenomenon.

Day in day out, women fall in love with bad boys who turn their heads and lives inside out.

Once a woman falls in love with a bad boy, there is no turning back.

It is like getting into a spider’s web of drama, dependency and outright craziness.

Bad boys have this inexplicable magnetism and allure that keeps even the squeakiest clean girls completely hooked.

Most bad boys see themselves as simply misunderstood and even think they could do so much better with some tender love and care.

Drama queens

There is always that mystery about why we love bad boys; life would be much simpler with a nice boy who brushes his teeth three times a day, eats all his vegetables and believes that the only fluids that should go into the body are milk and water.

The honest truth, though, is that good boys are boring and predictable.

Women love drama so much that we often to turn our lives into soap operas.

Dating a bad boy brings the drama, excitement and chaos that the female gene loves.

Strange as it this may sound we find some perverse pleasure in men who force us to beat other women for their attention, who send us on mad phone and car chases to establish their location and who are forever driving us giddy with pleasure or sick with fury.
