In Summary

  • Ladies, with the dawn of a new constitution, let us be open to new ideas so that we can put a stop to men’s excuses that married women are not adventurous.

Since time immemorial, men have been using the excuse that their wives are not adventurous enough in bed as an excuse to wander from home. So this Saturday ladies, it’s time to try and get his juices flowing.

It’s new beginnings. With the dawn of a new constitution, let’s be open to new ideas. A few weeks ago, I asked listeners on my radio show to call in with aphrodisiacs that work . Here are some that they recommended, perhaps you can try them out!

Pumpkin seeds: These enhance potency, drive and fertility. They contain zinc, which is important in testosterone production for men.  It also helps sustain sexual desire in women.

These seeds are also rich in essential fatty acid omega 3, which acts as a precursor of hormone-like substances that play a key role in sexual health.

Celery: I know, it tastes totally gross but… It boasts androsterone (an odourless hormone released through male perspiration). This hormone is the explanation behind over population of the earth! Women can’t resist it.

Bananas: They are rich in potassium and B vitamins which are vital for sex-hormone production. They also help to boost male libido due to the presence of the ‘bomelain’ enzyme. Go on guys, eat up. She’ll go bananas!

Nuts: We’ve heard a lot about nuts over the years but let’s get even more specific. Almonds are the best way to go. They provide the basis for the healthy production of male hormones essential in regulating sex-drive. Watch her go nuts over you.

Avocados: Despite all the potassium it contains to regulate a woman’s thyroid gland, I’ll pass. I may buy it for my man though as it also features B6 – A nutrient which improves male hormone production.

Here’s some trivia for you, the Aztecs called the avocado tree ‘ahuacatl’ or ‘testicle’ tree. If that’s not an endorsement, what is?
Asparagus: A real libido booster, this one! It’s very high in Vitamin E, which has long been thought of as the ‘sex vitamin’.

Chilies: Yeah, finally, something that I eat regularly! Chilies contain capsaicin, the substance that gives a kick to spicy foods. This triggers the release of endorphins.

There’s a feel good chemical for your brain right thurrrrr! It also stimulates nerve endings and raises your heart rate.

Basil: Increases circulation, stimulates the sex drive and boosts fertility.

Basil oil was once used by Mediterranean prostitutes as a perfume to attract clients.

Cardamom: I use this one in my curries; it’s nice to see it has made the list.

It’s an aromatic spice considered an intensely powerful aphrodisiac in some cultures. It’s also beneficial in treating impotence. It contains cineole, which increases blood flow to vital male parts.

Garlic: Yes, I know, bad breath. So make sure you both eat it! It contains high levels of allicin, which improves blood flow to the sexual organs. It also has great anti-fungal properties (just, you know, incase…).

Camel meat/milk: The Ethiopians are big on using camel milk to get their engines revving.

Someone called in and mentioned camel meat.

That’s it. A lot of people mentioned different alcohol beverages but I find that it’s the hangover that causes more stimulation than the actual drinking itself. So, this weekend, make a camel meat casserole seasoned with garlic, cardamom and chilies.
