Mr Jeremy Awori, managing director, Barclays Bank of Kenya

Until his appointment, Mr Awori held several senior executive positions with Standard Chartered Bank, among them CEO and managing director of Standard Chartered Bank, Tanzania, and previously as regional sales and performance director for Standard Chartered Bank, Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

Mr Joshua Oigara, CEO Kenya Commercial Bank

He will take over the company’s reins in January 2013 from outgoing CEO Martin Oduor- Otieno, who chose not to seek a renewal of his contract once it expires next year.

Until his appointment, Mr Oigara was the lender’s chief financial officer. He has worked for business advisory firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Kenya, Bidco Oil Refineries, and regional subsidiaries of global cement giant, Lafarge, including Bamburi and Uganda-based Hima Cement.

Munir Sheikh Ahmed, CEO National Bank of Kenya

NBK in August named Mr Munir Ahmed, a former Standard Chartered Bank executive, as chief executive to replace Mr Reuben Marambii, who retired after a long stint in the state-owned bank.

Mr Munir has worked at Standard Chartered Bank for 16 years, including in South Africa, where he was director in charge of regional transaction banking for Africa operations.
