Two killed as thugs attack Nairobi residents, police officer

At least two people were killed on Tuesday night after suspected armed robbers attacked several residences in Nairobi and stole properties of unknown value.

In Garden Estate along Thika Superhighway, three suspected thugs broke into the residence of Simon Ndirangu and robbed him cash and household goods of unknown value.

The armed men then proceeded to a neighbouring house and robbed its occupant Lucas Otieno. They later shot his security guard and two rounds in the air to scare neighbours as they fled the area.

The security guard, Mr Philip Lengale was pronounced dead on arrival at a Nairobi hospital.

In Kawangware's Kaza Moyo area, a couple was also attacked at the gate of their residence and their vehicle stolen.

The couple, Paul and Josephine Rapemo also lost other valuables. The thugs later shot Mr Rapemo and was pronounced dead on arrival at a Nairobi hospital.

At another section of Kawangware, commonly referred to as Coast area, a police officer was confronted by five armed men who stole his Taurus revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition, Sh1,500 and his certificate of appointment.

In Parklands, three men armed with pistols and an AK-47 rifle attacked Mr Mukesh Devray while parking his vehicle at his residence.

The thugs forced him into his house, robbed his family and shot dead his dog.
