In Summary

  • Ms Ndung’u believes that abortion is more of a health issue.
  • The Catholic and the Methodist churches as well as the Muslims have strongly opposed to the proposed law
  • Fida: A statement by a pregnant woman that her pregnancy is as a result of sexual assault, rape, defilement or incest is adequate to guarantee legal abortion.

Dr Khalwale, a gynaecologist by profession, says that the 10th Parliament is not as ‘immoral’ as to be blackmailed into legislating laws that do not add value to the lives of Kenyans.

He trivialised the move, saying that Fida only wants to justify the funding it gets from donors.

Abortion is murder whether a woman was raped or does not want to carry the preganancy to maturity. Ms Njoki Ndung'u, you are wrong. You an choose religion, but not taking someone else's life! Parliamentarians should be the voice of the people even the voiceless like the unborn. Legalised or not, it remains eveil even if everybody does it!
