Five young men, including Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s youngest son and the son of former Director of Criminal Investigations Joseph Kamau, were on Thursday involved in a road accident within the city.

The five were driving in two vehicles when the cars crashed along Valley Road, causing injuries.

They were reportedly on their way from an entertainment spot along Lenana Road in Hurlingham to the city centre when one of the vehicles hit the other and forced it off the road.

According to a police source, Raila Junior was driving a Mercedes Benz while the former CID director’s son was driving a BMW when the 3am accident occurred.

The Prime Minister visited the scene almost two hours after the accident to assess the damage on the vehicles.
The accident scene was also visited by the Nairobi traffic commandant, Mr Joseph Onyango, before the vehicles were towed to Kilimani Police Station.

One of the vehicles had its registration number removed at the police station. Other motorists rushed the victims to Nairobi Hospital where some of them were treated and discharged.

The Prime Minister visited the hospital where his son was admitted early yesterday morning while the former chief spy was still at the hospital by mid-morning as his son, who sustained leg injuries, was being treated.

A police source said the two vehicles had reportedly been seen speeding down Valley Road towards the city centre before the accident occurred.

Internal refugee

Elsewhere, an internally displaced person died when a Government-owned vehicle he was travelling in was involved in an accident on the Gilgil-Naivasha highway.

Two others were seriously injured and were admitted to Naivasha District Hospital following the incident on Wednesday afternoon.

The internally displaced people, who have been camping in Naivasha, were going to assess their newly bought land in Gilgil.
They intened to settle on the land. Sources said there were more than 10 passengers in the vehicle.

Too funny! you mean to tell me that as the people in Kibera were knifing each other in support of our funny leaders, our funny leaders were friends after all? did you notice our funny leaders were in their cozy homes drinking hot chocolate while the poor kiberians were fighting in their honour? ha! just an observation...

Blogging is not about hate or tribal, someone here trying to argue "if" which is not a valid argument anyway. If you are smart enough and read all the comments, everyone is arguing about the subjects and not about Raila or Kibaki. Wanjiku98 i have always read your comments and the are outright tribal.
