The President’s salary had been way below that of the Director of Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission Justice Aaron Ringera, who earns Sh2.5 million a month.

The salary increase was seen as correcting this anomaly. But Parliament deferred allowances for the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, leader of Official Opposition, members of Parliamentary Service Commission, the whips and deputy temporary speakers.

Allowances for the Vice-President, ministers and assistant ministers were being given as ministerial responsibility while the rest were to be approved as extraneous allowance.

Please Nation make this known to the Politicians, that we are NOT HAPPY at all with the way they are managing our country. If they really LOVE Kenya, hiyo pesa ikatwe 50%, itumiwe to fund hunger relief and pay teachers, build infrastructure. Je wata weza kweli? I dare them. They should cut costs at all cost.

You will never see Raila come out in public and criticize his bloated pay. Hahaha, I hope those who see Raila as a god are noting a common pattern shared by many Kenyan politicians.

for anyone to take that kind of salary and call themself a leader of a country of starving citizens in one of the poorest economies in the world is undescribable, am soo shocked by the story i had to read it four times. why does the president need 1.2 million for entertainment and extrenous allowances??!! ONLY GOD CAN SAVE KENYA.

Are these guys for real ? The PS claims that the president draws his salary from parliament, well guess where Parliament draws their funding from ? Regular hard working folk in Kenya who pay exorbitant taxes, not to mention that the hooligans in Parliament do not pay any taxes on their earnings. And they wonder why Kenya is still a third world nation. Greed Greed Greed. $200,000 house allowance and an additional $50,000 domestic allowance. Are you kidding me?
