A man claimed that the remains of a woman clutching a child are the bodies of his wife and daughter.

Mr Charles Ochieng said the last time he saw his wife was when she passed by his office on her way to Nakumatt Downtown for shopping. She was carrying his two-year-old daughter.

“They were at the store at the time of the unfortunate incident. I have a feeling that those are their remains,” he told the Sunday Nation by telephone.

Mr Ochieng said the hardest task he now faces is explaining to his six-year-old daughter the whereabouts of her mother and sister.

“I cannot go back home without a solid answer for her. She has not been going to school from Wednesday as she keeps crying for her mother and sister. I have tried telling her that they are at a relative’s place, and they will be coming home soon,” he said.

He had just had a counselling session with Red Cross staff.

To Mr. Ochieng, take courage and know that God is with you there is nothing we can do, just let her know what happened. You are in my prayers.

Pole sana. I wish you all the best and may Gods grace rain upon you. Take courage and explain to your daughter to the best of her simple minds could grasp. To those who lost their dear ones, friends, relatives and the Kenyan community may you find peace in him. To those we lost may your soul RIP
