In Summary

  • Government was providing relief food for the transition period and transport to ferry the settlers, says committee.

  • The ICS is in-charge of coordinating the conservation of Mau through various line ministries.

Mr Odinga has been in the forefront of agitating for the conservation of Mau forest and other key water towers in the country to avert serious environmental problems.

Mr Ruto and some Rift MPs have however been opposed to eviction of settlers in the 400,000 acres Mau, which is the country’s biggest tower, saying they should first be compensated or given alternative land.

The Eldoret North MP has argued that Mr Odinga wanted to use the Mau evictions to win international support.

@ 78g, What are you really up to? The acres and hectares have been well highlited, including the areas reclaimed in which their summation amounts to 25% of what has been recovered. You need to read the whole article before posting, not just the photo comments.
