KRA ought to know by imposing high tax margins only leads to more corruption as the 85% of the economy comprises of small businesswhich can`t afford the goverment over ambitious tax collection targets. Mr Waweru wake up Kenya is struggling economy and not a 1st world economy.

I wish the government could recognize and appreciate what is being done by Mr. John Allan Namu and his friend Mohammed Ali to eradicate corruption in our midst. There investigation on Kenya ports Authority and Kenya Revenue Authority deserve credit. The KRA Commissioner General Mr. Waweru has told us of the disciplinary action taken against 162 Officers but he did not elaborate on the action taken against the officers! Were they just warned and left there or transferred to new stations for them to scheme for new methods of corruption? Please Mr Waweru expound on that.

Yep Mr. Waweru. Don't lie to Kenyans. KRA is also suffering in HR corruption. If people are being hired after paying a bribe of more than 100K, what will make the same individuals not engage in it to get back there out flow and this results into a habitual behavior. KRA is number 1 in corruption, i always wonder how the police beat them. Kenya tax is as high TX US. Kenya VAT is 16% TX sales tax is 8.5%, while you can never compare anything between the two. There is a big problem Mr. Waweru.

Being such a sensitive organization, the KRA should have such a rigorous and laborious hiring process so as filter the best employees suited for the job.Thorough background check that goes back to family and school days.Neighbors be consulted before hiring to find out what character a possible employee possesses. We can't just waste taxpayers money hiring thieves to our institutions.

I am so happy with the KTN journalists who unravelled the corruption syndicate at the port of Mombasa. it just shows how the government has done so little on such vices. We hope action will be taken on these criminals.
