In Summary

  • Muhoho unilaterally authorises HR firm to advertise position in local print media

“I wish to inform you that my term is coming to an end on April 3, 2010. I have decided not to request for an extension and will proceed on retirement. This is to let you know that the position of managing director of KAA will be advertised in the media shortly,” the memo stated.

Little did employees know that Mr Muhoho had already sent the advertisement to the media and that it would appear the following day.

A fallout last year saw the then board chairman Erastus Mwongera kicked out after he declined to give Mr Muhoho a year’s extension. Mr Muhoho had served for six years before being granted a year’s extension.

For almost the entire year there was no board chairman at KAA, allowing the MD to single-handedly run the organisation.
