Arrest killer, says family at Ogunda burial

The lover of former Cabinet minister Raphael Tuju’s wife was buried on Sunday at his home in Homa Bay.

Tony Ogunda, a former General Service Unit police officer who died under mysterious circumstances, was buried in his father’s farm in a solemn service that attracted hundreds of mourners.

Conspicuously absent, however, was his wife, Ms Esther Dianga.

Mourners led by Homa Bay County Assembly deputy speaker Eliphalet Osuri demanded a thorough investigation into the death of their son.

Brought to book

“We hope this will not be another case where police are quick to claim that no stone will be left unturned until Ogunda’s killers are brought to book,” said Mr Osuri.

Detectives handling the case, he said, have the obligation of letting Ogunda’s family, relatives and friends know his killers.

Ogunda was found dead on a sofa in his friend’s house in Upper Hill, Nairobi, two weeks ago.

His lawyer Cliff Ombeta told his relatives that his client died of blunt force trauma in his left side of the head.

A suspect arrested over the case has since been freed.
