A plot to kick out city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi from the Judicial Service Commission gathered momentum with a petition complaining about his conduct.

Mr Bryan Yongo has petitioned the National Assembly Speaker, JSC, the Chief Justice, the Attorney-General and the Law Society of Kenya to take action against Mr Abdullahi over complaints ranging from academic qualifications to professional misconduct.

Mr Yongo claimed that Mr Abdullahi did not qualify as an advocate and should be struck off their roll, stripped of senior counsel status, removed from LSK membership and dropped as a JSC commissioner.

He claimed that in 1992, Mr Abdullahi signed some documents purporting that they were signed by lawyer Peter Simami from whom he was seeking a certificate of pupilage.

When reached for comment, Mr Abdullahi said he was used to such allegations and would not issue a statement since he had dealt with the issue two years ago.

Mr Yongo’s petition comes a few days after LSK wrote to JSC secretary Gladys Shollei to inquire about the replacement of their member whose term was expiring.

Mr Abdullahi however vowed to fight to retain his post.
