Police said a man walked into the butchery in Othaya town and ordered for matumbo (tripe) worth Sh20 and directed that it be cooked.

However, as the 52-year-old man was leaving the butchery, he was reminded that he had not paid for the meal, but he declined to pay resulting in an argument.

Central provincial police spokesman Muthamia Mwenda said the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the butcher in the neck.

The victim was rushed to Othaya District Hospital where he died as he was being treated.
