Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has directed all local authorities not to pass the sale or lease of plots acquired fraudulently.

Speaking during an ODM delegates’ conference at Kilifi County Council at the weekend, the Local Government Minister said the ministry has been blamed for such transactions.

“No transfer or sale of any individual parcel of land should pass unless thorough investigations are done,” he said.

Mr Mudavadi warned that those who go against the directive will be prosecuted.

Addressing the same meeting Fisheries Minister Amason Kingi urged all aspirants for county seats to read and understand the Constitution first.

He asked ODM members, especially in the counties, to remain united even after the nominations to make the party stronger.

“We are thirsty for leadership. We tried in 2007 and the referee after we scored said it was off side.

“This time round by no means we must score, just one goal is enough for we are after the points not goals,” he said.

Mr Kingi said ODM wants a landslide victory not just for the presidential seat only, but parliamentary, governorship, senate to have a strong team.
