President Kenyatta has told the Cabinet to embrace teamwork to achieve transformation in service delivery.

The President challenged the 18-member Cabinet to be transparent and impartial in their service to Kenyans.

He was speaking after witnessing the swearing in of Cabinet Secretary, Interior and Coordination of National Government Joseph Ole Lenku and Kazungu Kambi (Labour, Social Security and Services) at State House, Nairobi Thursday.

The President said Kenyans have high expectations on the government to deliver and have faith in the ability of the Cabinet Secretaries to transform the country.

"The government’s development record will be defined by the quality of public service delivery in terms of accountability, fairness and timeliness," the Head of State noted.

The President congratulated the Cabinet Secretaries on their appointment and stressed the importance of teamwork in order to deliver on the government’s development agenda.

Those present included: Deputy President William Ruto, Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai Cabinet Secretaries, leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale, leader of the Majority in the Senate Kithure Kindiki and PS Internal Security, Mutea Iringo and senior government officials.

Earlier, the President met religious leaders including German Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke who paid him a courtesy call.

Other religious leaders in the delegation included Evangelist Wairimu Nelson of Faith Evangelistic Ministries, Bishop Arthur Gitonga of Redeemed Gospel, Pastor Charles Mulema of Nairobi Gospel Centre International and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru of Jesus is Alive Ministry.
