Father kills four children in rage

A man went berserk and killed his four children after a wrangle with the wife at the weekend.
The suspect quarrelled with his wife over rent and killed the children after she stormed out.
He ran away after killing the children.
The bodies of Bryan Misati, 8, and Robert Toto, 6, who are pupils at Kiong’ong’i Primary School; Cynthia Moraa, 5, and Mogotu Mum, 3, were discovered in the house and a nearby field in Bouti, Kisii.

The bodies were discovered by the wife, Ms Hellen Kemunto.
The killing is the latest of domestic violence cases in the country.
According to Ms Kemunto, trouble started on Saturday night when the man arrived home at about 9pm and asked her to pack their belongings so that they can move to another estate.
The wife said that she resisted the move, insisting that he should pay the four-month rent arrears before they could move.
The family had stayed in the slum for four months after they were kicked out of Nyanguru in Kiogoro division on suspicion that the husband was a thief.
“We have been quarrelling since we got married. I have never enjoyed living with my husband. He is brutal and keeps beating me over small issues,” said the wife amid sobs.
Sensing that she would be beaten, Ms Kemunto ran away, leaving behind the children with the husband.
The following morning, she returned home at about 6am to check on the family but was “shocked” to find the body of one child near the doorstep.
She raised the alarm, attracting the attention of neighbours.
Hours after the incident, the husband called Mrs Lucia Kerubo, a neighbour, and told her to collect the other three bodies in a grass field near their home.
The neighbour mobilised other residents and they found the three bodies which had deep knife cuts.
Kisii police boss Tom Mutsiya said officers were tracking down the killer who had fled after the incident.
Knife stuck on back
Elsewhere, a woman has been admitted to Bondo District Hospital after she was stabbed by a man who inherited her following a domestic quarrel.
Ms Millicent Awuor Wasonga, 35, was rushed to the health facility by neighbours in a serious condition with the knife that was used in the attack stuck on her back.
According to area assistant chief David Nyawade, the man had inherited the woman after the death of her husband.
He is said to have attacked her on her way to the river in Ujwanga Village, Bondo District.
“They have been living together until recently when the woman forced the man out of her house after they quarrelled,” said Mr Nyawade.
Bondo acting OCPD Paul Kiarie said they were looking for the man.
