Four suspected gangsters shot dead in Nairobi

Four suspected gangsters have been gunned down in Nairobi’s Langata estate after police thwarted a robbery attempt.

The four are said to have been behind various criminal activities in the city and its environs.

Nairobi police boss Moses Ombati said officers had been pursuing them since Tuesday after they carried out robberies in Ongata Rongai on the outskirts of the city.

“Our officers had been trailing them since yesterday (Tuesday) evening and they managed to gun them down at about 8pm”, Mr Ombati said.

An AK47 rifle loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition was recovered from the slain suspects.

Several documents including ATM and identity cards were also recovered.

The suspects were driving a Toyota saloon car when they were shot dead.
