Keegan wins Big Brother, Prezzo runner-up

Kenya’s contestant in this year’s Big Brother Africa reality show Prezzo, became the first runners-up after managing to stay in the game for the full 91 days.

The $300,000 (Sh25 million) cash prize was won by South Africa’s Keagan, who was able to beat the rest of the five fellow finalists, Lady May from Namibia, Wati from Malawi, Kyle from Uganda, Talia from Zambia and Prezzo.

However, Prezzo was officially made the Africa ambassador for the international One campaign.

In the finals, held in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the game was being held, host IK first evicted Wati, much to the shock of most of the fans present. The next housemate to be evicted was Uganda’s Kyle, who was then followed by Zambia’s beauty Talia.

But the game got more confusing when Lady May was evicted next, leaving Kenya’s Prezzo and SA’s strongman Keagan. “I heard that I was the most boring housemate but I thank Africa for keeping me in the house to the finals,” said Lady May when she got on stage.

Prezzo was happy that despite not having a chance of becoming head of house to save himself the many times he was nominated, at least Africa loved him and kept him in the house. “But I thank God the most for keeping me strong and safe in the house to the last day,” he said.

Prezzo is the first Kenyan representative to get to the finals in the Big Brother Africa reality show. His family was represented by his mother, uncle and an aunt.

The live final show had several African artistes performing, including Nigeria’s D’Banj Naeto C, Ghana’s Sirkodie, Uganda’s Navio and South Africa’s Khuli Chana.
