Kibaki heads to UK for investment summit

President Kibaki has travelled to London, United Kingdom for an official visit.

During the visit, President Kibaki will address the Kenya Investment Conference in London where he will outline the steps his government has taken to boost the business and investment environment in Kenya.

The summit is hosted by Alderman David Wooton, the Rt. Hon. Lord Mayor of the city of London.

The President will also address the Kenya Diaspora Conference. The conference, hosted by the Kenya Government and co-hosted by the KCB Group, seeks to galvanise the Kenya Diaspora to be part of the country’s development agenda.

President Kibaki will also join other Heads of State and Government for the official opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games on Friday.

Before the opening ceremony, he will attend a reception hosted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The President and his delegation left Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly before 12.00 am.

President Kibaki was seen off at the airport by Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, Defence minister and acting Internal Security minister Yusuf Haji and the acting Head of Public Service Francis Kimemia, among other senior government officials.
