The head of Civil Service Francis Kimemia will on Thursday chair a meeting bringing together the Country’s top security organs to discuss the alleged security threat to Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, judges and members of the Diplomatic community.

According to a statement read on Wednesday by the by government spokesman Muthui Kariuki, the National Security Advisory Committee will meet to discuss “the matter in its entirety.”

The statement said the committee will later brief Kenyans on the outcome of the meeting.

Mr Kariuki said the alleged threats were especially serious coming just days to the high stake March 4 General Elections.

“The government takes threats to the Chief Justice or any other Kenyan very seriously and this is why Mr Kimemia has convened the meeting,” he said.

The spokesman also dismissed any claims of political ill motive on the part of Mr Kimemia when he recently stopped him from travelling outside the country according to the CJ.

He said that the Chief Justice and the Head of Civil Service have always worked harmoniously

The Chief Justice shocked the nation on Wednesday when he convened a press conference and alleged that members of the outlawed Mungiki Group had written to him and threatened his life if the courts give an adversarial ruling in the case challenging Uhuru Kenyatta’s bid for the presidency on integrity grounds.
