Registration of candidates for this year’s national primary and secondary school examinations officially began on Friday.
The exercise will last two months, coming to a close on March 31.
According to a Kenya National Examinations Council’s (Knec) advert in the dailies, all the registration materials for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations were ready and would be accessible through the Council’s website www.knec.ac.ke for all stakeholders to download and register their candidates.
Only district schools and private centres will be allowed to use the off-line module although they will be expected to attach the candidates’ photographs before uploading other details.
Knec stressed that there would be no late listing as the online registration platform would be inaccessible. Candidates’ data will be displayed for confirmation of registered candidates.
“This means that no new online registration and editing of data will be allowed after March 31,” said the council.
All headteachers, county directors of education, Ministry of Education and district education officials are required to access registration process guidelines from the website.
Private candidates are expected to download their forms before reporting to their county directors of education for instructions.
