The ninth nationwide draw of the ‘Soma Ushibe na Nation’ promotion took place in Nakuru on Saturday with one lucky reader winning three vouchers.
Ms Jemimah Mumbi Mwangi took home shopping vouchers worth Sh30,000 after her entry coupons were picked three times.
Ms Mwangi was among the 20 readers who won the Naivas Supermarket vouchers worth Sh10,000 each during the draw at the supermarket’s mega shopping mall in Nakuru.
The lucky winners were awarded Naivas shopping vouchers worth Sh10,000 each.
Three others walked away with two vouchers worth Sh20,000. They were Mr Martin Juma, Ms Beth Munyiva Makau and Mr Jasan Nyoike Kariuki.
When his name was announced as the fourth winner, Mr Simon Kinyanjui Ngugi could not hide his joy.
“I didn’t know that one day my loyalty to the Nation would be rewarded in such a big way,” said Mr Kinyanjui, 40.
“My favourite column in the Daily Nation is the Cutting Edge. I may miss reading other headlines but certainly not the Cutting Edge page,” added the father of three who comes from Wangige in the outskirts of Nairobi.
Mr Nyoike, 44, said he has never failed to win in a single promotion by the Nation.
“I have been participating in all promotions by the Nation Media Group and I have always walked home with a prize,” said Mr Nyoike, a fan of the Nation’s editorial cartoonist Gado.
Another lucky winner who identified herself as Ms Midecha said: “I had only dropped two coupons and the least I was expecting today is to win.”
Ms Midecha was accompanied by his 11-year-old son Dickson Midemba.
The promotion comes to an end on July 30 with a national draw in Nairobi.
