On Monday morning, the suspect is said to have taken breakfast and mobilised his fellow inmates to clean the cells.

The suspect's body was later found hanging from a scarf which was left by a woman in one of the cells after being released.

Police say he did not leave any suicide note.

The suspect was under investigation for the death of his five children, all under the age of 10, whose bodies were discovered by neighbours on December 20, last year.

Neighbours found the three boys and two girls after becoming suspicious that the door was locked at 10am.

The boys were aged between two and 10 while the girls were four and seven years.
