Police are holding the man who hosted Tony Ogunda prior to his death.

Cosmas Okoth Opondo, Raphael Tuju’s wife nephew, had hosted Ogunda for about two weeks.

He had earlier recorded a statement with the police but was summoned again after the preliminary autopsy results were released.

Police are also considering a murder angle in Ogunda's death.

The autopsy conducted on Wednesday afternoon by pathologists Johansen Oduor and Peter Ndegwa could not conclusively establish the cause of the injury.

Mr Opondo was summoned to, among other things, shed more light on whether Ogunda could have been injured by a fall or was assaulted.

His blood alcohol concentration was very high, confirming an earlier statement by Mr Opondo that they had drunk liquor for hours.

Nairobi County Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) chief Nicholas Kamwende said that Ruth Akinyi, Mr Tuju's estranged wife, had also been summoned by the detectives for interrogation and statement taking.
