One person has been killed after a building collapsed in Mlolongo on Saturday evening.

Several people are still feared trapped and disaster response teams are at the scene.

A tweet from @KenyaRedCross says eight people have been rescued.

Reports indicate that a large crowd has gathered hampering on-going rescue efforts.

The four-storey building was under construction and collapsed at around 6.45pm.

Last month, a building under construction collapsed in Nairobi's Westlands area leaving one person dead.
