Sheila Kwamboka, 25, is Kenya’s representative in the reality TV show Big Brother Africa All Stars edition.

In a colourful event held in Johannesburg, South Africa, Sheila joined 13 other previous contestants from 13 countries.

This year’s Big Brother Africa, the fifth edition of the reality show, brought back the most controversial contestants from the previous shows.

With the show’s hosts Eku and IK presenting the colourful live broadcast across Africa, the contestants were ushered in one by one in limousines amid tight security through the red-carpet to the main auditorium.

Jamaican musician Sean Paul started the show with a resounding performance as the contestants strode in.

Screamed at each other

The contestants, who had no idea who else was going to be in the show, screamed at each other as they rejoiced after meeting for the second time in the house.

There were no auditions done this time, as the producers went through the previous shows and picked the most popular contestants, for different reasons, and put them in the house again.

According to M-Net Africa managing director Biola Alabi, this is going to be an interesting and more enjoyable show because the contestants know each other.

“They are now equipped with more insight and knowledge into the world of alliances, conspiracy and tactics,” said Biola before the show started.

Rules remain the same and the most boring contestant will be voted out until the winner remains in the house to the very last day.

Sheila represented Kenya in 2008, during the third edition of the show and stayed in the house for 44 days.

She now stands a second chance to win $200,000 (Sh16 million) if she stays in the star-studded house for 91 days.

Sheila, an event organiser with Kenya’s 254 Entertainment, and also a student, is best remembered for being a drama queen in the house.

Produced by Endemol and broadcast by pay TV DStv, Big Brother Africa premiered in 2003 with 12 contestants from 12 different countries going into the house, all gunning for the top prize of $100,000.

Other contestants who entered the house last Sunday include Code Sangala (Malawi), Hannington Kavuma (Uganda), Jen Garner (Mozambique), Kaone Ramontshonyana (Botswana) and Lerato Sengadi (South Africa).

Others are Meryl Shiwambane (Namibia), Munya Chidzonga (Zimbabwe), Mwisho Mwampamba (Tanzania), Paloma Manda (Zambia), Sammi Bampoe (Ghana), Tatiana Durao (Angola), Uti Nwachukwu (Nigeria) and Yacob Yehdego (Ethiopia).

Previous contestants who have represented Kenya include Alex Holi in 2003, Jeff Anthony Omondi in 2007, while Jeremy Ndirangu and Teddy Muthusi represented Kenya last year.
