- Nairobi socialite may still bag Sh16m grand prize if she survives the barn
Sheila Kwamboka, Kenya’s representative in the Big Brother reality show, was on Sunday evicted from the house.
The Kenyan MC and karaoke host lost out to Zimbabwe’s Munya in a popularity vote by viewers, and joins five other evictees at the less prestigious loser’s hold-out known as the barn.
It was a painful eviction for Sheila as she had not been nominated by other housemates for possible eviction.
Mozambican Jen, as head of house, used her privilege to swap a housemate on eviction to replace Code from Malawi with Sheila.
Sheila was shell-shocked to discover that she was up for eviction a few minutes before she was given the marching orders.
Although they are not aware, two of the evictees at the barn will be voted back to the Big Brother House by viewers, meaning Sheila could still be in the running for the Sh16 million top prize.
On Sunday, Sheila was up for eviction with Zimbabwe’s Munya who survived the axe for the fifth time. As she left the house, Jen and Nigerian Uti broke down to tears. While in the house, Sheila was in a relationship with Uti.
There are eight housemates left in the house.
This year’s Big Brother Africa, the fifth edition of the reality show, brought back the most controversial contestants from the previous shows.
The show, aired on M-NET across the continent, has been criticised for the carefree lifestyle of the housemates.
According to bloggers online, Sheila could have been punished by viewers for kissing and sharing a bed with Meryl, a female housemate from Namibia.
