Three people died following a road crash involving two trailers at Ngata area on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway early Friday.

The dead included the driver of one of the trailers and his two passengers.

According to Nakuru police boss, Bernard Kioko, the driver may have lost control of his trailer that was heading towards Nakuru as veered onto the path of the oncoming truck resulting in a head-on-collision.

“It looks like the brakes of the trailer failed when it hit the other one which was climbing the lane ferrying goods,” Mr Kioko said.

The driver of the truck that was hit escaped with minor injuries.

The trailers were later towed to Nakuru Police Station.

The dead were transferred to Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital mortuary.
