Tuju's wife questioned in Ogunda death probe

Former minister Raphael Tuju’s wife Ruth Akinyi is being questioned by detectives at Kilimani Police Station.

Mrs Tuju was summoned by the detectives for interrogation and statement taking following the mysterious death of her lover Tony Ogunda on Tuesday morning.

Some of Ogunda's friends have alleged that prior to his death, Mrs Tuju was not in good terms with him.

Police are also interested in tracing Ogunda's last moments.

Earlier Thursday, police arrested the man who had hosted Ogunda.

Nairobi County Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) chief Nicholas Kamwende said that Cosmas Opondo had earlier recorded a statement with the police but was summoned after the preliminary autopsy results were released.

The autopsy conducted on Wednesday afternoon by pathologists Johansen Oduor and Peter Ndegwa could not conclusively establish the cause of the injury.
