Two Administration Police corporals have been arrested for breaking into an office and stealing goods worth Sh776,000.

AP Corporals Simon Mwania and Patrick Makhoha from the Security of Government Building (SGB) Unit were deployed to guard the Government Press building along Haile Selassie Avenue but later reported that thugs raided the place and stole bulletin boards and papers.

Detectives analysed the CCTV footages and also did a call data analysis and found out that the two officers were involved in the theft together with other suspects still at large.

The footage shows the officers together with some unidentified men taking the things away. They will be arraigned in court on Monday.

Army officer arrested

Meanwhile, an army officer is being held at the Malaba Police Station for allegedly assaulting a businessman in Amukura, Teso South District.

Private Dickson Ekapolon, of the Kenya Army is said to have stabbed Mr Fredrick Omoding with a knife on his head and stomach on suspicion that he was having an affair with his wife.

The suspect is said to have sent his brother to lure the victim from a pub before he was stabbed

An eyewitness at the scene and rushed the injured victim to Kocholya Hospital where he was referred to Bungoma District Hospital for treatment.

Teso Deputy Police boss, Francis Wahome said the suspect was arrested and he is being held at Malaba Police Station.

He said the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
