Rwandese model bags Miss East Africa Paris prize

The second annual Miss East Africa Paris event was held over the weekend with a Rwandese model Shelina Scaravelli emerging the winner.

The three finalists were from Kenya, Burundi and Rwanda.

The gala was hosted by representatives of the East African Community with officials from all country Consular and Diplomatic missions based in Paris.

The event, which was sponsored by Kenya Airways courtesy of Madam Greta Swings the local KQ manager turned out to be an incredible success.

Director of Press and Communications for East Africa France Cleopatra Mukula said: "We are such a minority group here in Paris therefore events like these are very important to us. Its also a wonderful opportunity for people to connect and network on a cultural and business level." 

East Africans living in Paris showed solidarity cheering on their respective models who's make up was done by BLACKUP PARIS a make up brand for people of colour who have just opened their first outlet at JKIA duty free shops in Nairobi.

Ms Scaravelli's future as the Face of East Africa in Paris looks bright.

The prizes were sponsored by Kenya Airways, La Nuit Africaine Paris, Bank of Africa and BLACKUP PARIS.
