MOGADISHU, Wednesday

Forty Somali legislators met in Mogadishu to prepare a motion to censure Kenya over alleged harassment of its citizens residing in Nairobi.
The MPs met yesterday to formulate the parliamentary grievance motion against the government of Kenya.

The signed document has been made public in the Somali capital by its promoters.

In the motion that has been passed to the Speaker of the Transitional Federal Parliament, the legislators are demanding their government to seek apology from the government of Kenya in regard to the abuses against Somalis.

The MPs urged Parliament to press on the Somali government to cut its diplomatic and trade relations with Kenya.

Moreover, the MPs want international agencies to move their bases from Kenya to other countries in the region such as Djibouti, Ethiopia and Uganda.

The MPs also want to know why the Somali government has not reacted to the problems faced by Somalis in Kenya.
Different places

In their preamble, the motion states that the Kenyan security service, particularly in Nairobi, have committed abuses against Somalis residing or staying in different places.

They noted that the ill-treated Somalis included Somali Kenyans, business people, legislators from Somalia and other government officials from Somalia such as ministers and high ranking officers.

They added that many of the mistreated persons were in Kenya for official meetings and seminars. “We resent that Kenyan officials, including ministers, made sardonic statements, giving Somali officials the option of either leaving the country or registering at the refugee camps.’’

What they need to do is sort themselves out and work at bringing peace in their country for their citizens who are being slaughtered like animals. They shd work on removing the log that's stuck in their own eyes b4 they try to remove a splinter from someone else's eyes. And I thought Kenyan MPs are the craziest.

I didnt even know Somalia had mps.It so laughable ,seriously. They are complaining because they live in Nairobi and probably draw salaries for doing nothing.Illegal Somalis in Nairobi need to be deported. These guys have made the property market in Kenya unaffordable and i have no sympathy for them.Let them go back to their country and rebuild it instead of living in luxury in Nairobi.

Dear Kenyans, I did not laugh with the demands of Somali Mps to ask an appology from Kenya for mistreating its nationals who were in Kenyan legally. There is a lot kenyan can go slow as much as it can flex its muscles. The problem is when Kenyan authorities can not differentiate the somali kenyans from somalians.NFD will soon be kenyans neighbouring state!!
