Petition to block Tobiko filed

A man had filed a petition seeking to stop the process of appointing Keriako Tobiko as Kenya's Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Thomas Kagwe Mbugua want the respondents restrained from processing Mr Tobiko as the next DPP until his petition is heard and determined.

He is also seeking an order directing the said respondents to make available minutes, notes , reports, maps, questionnaires, memoranda and any other document prepared for the purpose of conducting his interview or submitted by various persons or institutions including the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS).

The respondents include representatives from the President and Prime Minister's offices, State Law Office, Cotu, Law Society of Kenya among others.

Mr Tobiko is listed as an interested party.

The petition will be heard on Tuesday afternoon
