On March 4, 2013 Kenya will hold its first General Election under the new Constitution. It will be a big test for the country's boldest political experiment ever.

There are as many reasons to fear what the outcome might be, as there are to believe the elections could produce Kenya’s finest hour.

As part of Nation Media Group’s small contribution to how the story of March 2013 turns out, we are reaching out to Kenyans to help amplify our expectations and hopes as we head to the polls.

The youth need jobs; the country needs housing; most citizens still don’t have access to clean water; many Kenyan mothers still die during childbirth; far too many children Kenyan children die before their 5th birthday.

We would like you to send us your ideas, and examples of "inspirational Kenya" that demonstrate we can overcome these problems.

We would like tips about Kenyans who, in their small ways, are setting examples, and showing that however grand our ambitions might be, we can achieve them – if the right policies and actions are put in place.

It could be a doctor or a farmer who embodies the spirit of optimism and hard work, and would prosper and employ hundreds of jobless youth if, for example, the road to his farm was rebuilt and the government negotiated with Tanzania to allow him easier market access.

How have ordinary people used new technology to solve their problems. For example, Chief Francis Kariuki is using Twitter to fight crime in Lanet, Umoja. Again, what can be done so that every chief becomes tech savvy like Mr Kariuki?

All in all, we want something that shows Kenyans at their best, and that can be useful for others to imitate, and point a way for a practical or policy solution for the leaders who care and are looking for signals from the people.
