A Cabinet minister has threatened to quit if the Government does not address spiralling insecurity in his constituency.
Livestock Development minister Muhamed Kuti said the spate of attacks in which scores of people have been killed and cattle stolen by bandits had become unbearable.
Addressing a peace meeting at Merti in Isiolo, Mr Kuti said the attacks had impoverished his people.
“This should be stopped,” said the Isiolo North MP. “I can no longer stand seeing my people die like animals.”
The minister was reacting to the killing of more than 10 people in Merti early this week.
Two more bodies were Thursday recovered from a from.

This is really a major concern. The government of Kenya serves to protect ALL Kenyans, not MOST Kenyans, not SOME Kenyans but ALL Kenyans. Even Kenyans living a mile from the Somali border on the Kenyan side deserve 100% protection. It is sad that ordinary people matter to government when they are paying taxes.

I agree with Josseph that ALL Kenyans deserve 100% protection but you know what they refer to those from NORTHERN part of this country? - Person of Somali Origin, and so they are more of second class and thus get second class treatment, either in terms of infrastructure or services. Ali Yonis USA
