The list of the House Business Committee was amended on Tuesday to include Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaker Kenneth Marende chaired the first meeting of the newly constituted House Business Committee soon after members unanimously approved its amended composition.

Party whips George Thuo (PNU) and Jakoyo Midiwo (ODM) proposed an amended list. Mr Odinga and Narc Kenya chairperson Martha Karua are among the six names in the new list. Others are Cabinet minister Beth Mugo and MPs Musikari Kombo, Bonny Khalwale and Joyce Laboso.

They replaced Mr Kiraitu Murungi, Ms Shakila Abdalla, Ms Esther Murugi, Mr Moses Wetang’ula, Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o and Mr Henry Kosgey.

Those retained are Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, Deputy Prime Ministers Uhuru Kenyatta and Musalia Mudavadi, Cabinet ministers George Saitoti, Mutula Kilonzo, William Ruto, Charity Ngilu and Sally Kosgei.

Others are Mr Adan Keynan, Mr Mohamud Maalim Mohamed, Mr Francis Chachu, Mr Thomas Ludindi Mwadeghu, Mr Robert Monda and the two whips.
