He is an assistant minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs.

The Baringo North MP was in his Rubia Estate house in Lang’ata around 7pm when the five young men stormed in and ordered him, his wife and children to lie on the floor.

The gangsters frisked their pockets and robbed them of money and mobile phones and then ransacked the house for money and other valuables.

The gangsters then parked television sets, radios, DVD players and other household items into the assistant minister’s Toyota Prado vehicle and drove away. The vehicle was later found abandoned.

Meanwhile, three suspected gangsters were shot dead by police in two different foiled robberies in Kariobangi and Mathare respectively.

According to the Kasarani OCPD Jasper Ombati, two suspected gangsters were shot dead in Kariobangi area on Sunday night after police on patrol found them robbing people.

A home-made pistol, a knife and some victims’ property were recovered from the dead gangsters.

In the second incident, a suspected gangster was shot dead in Mathare 4B area, but his three accomplices escaped with bullet wounds.

Mr Ombati said victims alerted police on patrol about the criminal gang that was waylaying residents and robbing them.

However, when they were confronted by police, the gangsters split and ran in different directions, prompting the police to shoot.

In another incident, Administration Police officer on Sunday night foiled a robbery within Runda area after armed gangsters carjacked four motorists in less than an hour.

The officers fired at the carjacked vehicle prompting the gangsters to jump out and abandon it.

Police have also arrested two night guards who were on duty when the Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s private office on Kiambere Road, in Upperhill area, was burgled.

The night guards had gone missing immediately after the incident.
