Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday urged Kenyans to embrace reconciliation to avoid unnecessary tensions.

Mr Musyoka, who has drawn criticism for suggesting a Kamba, Kikuyu and Kalenjin ethnic alliance, said his crusade was aimed at reuniting Kenyans and end mistrust that could ignite conflict among various communities.

He said time had come for leaders to work together irrespective of their parties and fight negative ethnicity that was threatening the country’s stability.

“We need to resolve the unnecessary tensions among our people that have given our country a bad image by preaching reconciliation and national cohesion,” the VP said.

Mr Musyoka said Kenyans should draw lessons from the unresolved ethnic conflict in Sudan’s Darfur region, which had claimed 2 million lives.

Prayer service

He was accompanied by Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale during a prayer service for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education candidates at Musingu High School in Kakamega South District.

He said he had decided to tour the provinces to reach out to leaders who were ready to preach peace and reconciliation so that Kenyans could co-exist. Dr Khalwale said the government should investigate reports about youth from North Eastern Province being recruited for the Somali war.

The MP said the government should act promptly to stop such a recruitment as it could pose a security threat to the country. The VP wished KCSE candidates well in their practical examinations that will start on Tuesday.

He urged the candidates to avoid engaging in cheating and other malpractices that could lead to cancellation of their results.

Kalonzo Musyoka has ever been known not to take any position on any issue of national interest, how will he then convince us that he can provide a good leadership to this country while every time he opens his mouth he spits division. We need leaders who can heal this this nation, bridge the divides, bring our people together, shun tribalism, create employment opportunities, fight poverty and help our people forge ahead.

Very confused. He thought kenyans were fools. After the opinion polls he has learned that Kenyans dont subscribe to his lies. Just the other day he was talking of a tribal outfit-KKK. Kenyans fired back with salvo. He has now been pushed to a small corner and has designed further lies that he is reaching out to other communities. A pretender, fence sitter, hypocrite and an opportunist of the highest order. He is wasting public funds. He cant even continue to reform the prisons department like Awori did.

Kalonzo was confused even before general Elections. Raila promised him V.P post but he ran away to Kibaki and still bargained for the same post. i dont think he can lead. He is just jealous about reformers in this country.
