Prime Minister Raila Odinga was morally right to order the suspension of Agriculture Minister William Ruto and Education’s Sam Ongeri, according to an assistant minister.

President Kibaki was also legally right to cancel the suspensions, according to Mr Kabando wa Kabando, the Sports and Youth Affairs assistant minister.

But the Mukurweini MP said: “Conflicts in application shouldn’t benefit merchants of impunity. The sword of justice will catch up with culprits.

“The conflict is unhealthy for the graft war and financial markets.”

The MP said looters of the country’s economy should not hide in cracks in the coalition.

“Graft is not about Kibaki or Raila. It is a grave painful scar for starving Kenyans,” he said.

The PM differed with the President when the head of state rescinded Mr Odinga’s decision to suspend the ministers over corruption claims, sparking a war of words among their supporters.
