Mr Wamalwa claims President Kibaki had struck a deal with his brother-former Vice-President Michael Wamalwa to leave the seat to him (the former VP).

The young Wamalwa says he had reminded President Kibaki of the deal and that he had promised to rally behind him for the top seat.

The MP’s critics have however questioned President Kibaki’s leaving out Mr Wamalwa from Cabinet or even making him an assistant minister.
