Deputy President to use former PM's office

The government on Monday overruled the Transition Authority’s plans and stated that the former Prime Minister’s office in Nairobi has been reserved for the Deputy President.

Government Spokesman Muthui Kariuki said the office of the Deputy President will be situated at Shell BP House which had been housing the offices of the Prime Minister.

“Anybody who may have any other information contrary to this should treat it as erroneous. Visits by unauthorized parties purporting to inspect the premises will not be entertained,” he said in a brief statement.

Earlier in the year, the Transition Authority had indicated that after the General Election, Nairobi’s Governor will use the office located in Nairobi’s Harambee Avenue.
