President Kenyatta has told MPs allied to the Jubilee Coalition to embrace teamwork in the National Assembly in order to effectively drive government legislative agenda.

The President said the success of the Jubilee government in delivering on the development agenda pledged to Kenyans will depend on teamwork both in the legislative and executive arms of government.

Speaking during a meeting with the Jubilee Parliamentary Group at State House, Nairobi, President Kenyatta told the MPs to ensure that the spirit of teamwork was maintained.

"You have managed to hold us together and we really appreciate your teamwork as demonstrated. The key for us is to recognise that the success of Jubilee government is the success of each one of us. We are a responsive and responsible government. We will deliver to the Kenyan people," he told the MPs.

"Personally, I promise to continue leading you from the front so that we can empower our people."

The Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to deliver on all the various campaign pledges made to Kenyans.

“I assure you and all Kenyans that we shall amicably resolve any challenges facing the country. We shall especially work towards ensuring that we fight poverty and bring down the cost of doing business in the country”, the President said.

The meeting, attended by Deputy President William Ruto and Majority Leader in the National Assembly Adan Duale, brought together MPs from the Jubilee alliance and its affiliates.
