GG Kariuki’s party to go for the presidency

Mwakenya Solidarity Movement, a political party associated with former Internal Security minister Mr GG Kariuki will field its own presidential candidate in next year’s general election.

The national organising secretary, Mr Peter Njoroge Kamunya, said in Nyahururu that the candidate will be picked democratically.

He said Mr Kariuki will have to battle it out with other interested people to be the party’s flag bearer.

Mr Kariuki is the national party leader, Mr James Mungai the secretary, Mr Watson Simiyu chairman, Mr Wamai Wambua treasurer and Mr Bob Obok is the youth leader.

He said the party had launched a national recruitment drive which expects to get five million members.

“This party relies on the young generation and with five million members it can take somebody to State House,’’ Mr Kamunya declared
