I’m still forging ahead with Uhuru, says Ruto

Suspended Higher Education minister William Ruto on Saturday denied claims that he and Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta had fallen out over the next year’s presidential race.

He termed those peddling the claims as false prophets.

“Our political adversaries have started driving a wedge between us and whatever they are saying is not true,” he told hundreds of residents at Kutus town during a thanksgiving tour for Kirinyaga Central MP Gachoki Gitari.

He was accompanied by Nairobi Metropolitan Development minister Mr Njeru Githae, Saboti MP Mr Eugene Wamalwa and his Igembe South counterpart Mr Mithika Linturi.

Mr Ruto told the cheering crowd that they were working together to form a formidable force that would take over the government once President Kibaki retires.

Mr Ruto emphasised that his team would reach out to all Kenyans across the country for support during the race for presidency.

Speaking during the tour, Mr Gitari criticised the Prime Minister Raila Odinga for allegedly abandoning Mr Ruto during the hour of need.
