Nairobi Governor-elect Evans Kidero on Sunday dismissed rumours that he had been abducted.

He tweeted and posted on his Facebook page at mid-day assuring his supporters that he was safe.

“Please disregard any rumours that you might have heard about my safety. l would like to tell you all that I am safe and sound,” he said in the post that followed numerous queries about his security.

There were claims on social media that Dr Kidero had been abducted and shot.

However, he said in his tweets that he had attended a church service at Karura Chapel with his family and friends on Sunday morning.

He went ahead to wish his fans a blessed Sunday and a great week.

Mr Kidero emerged winner of the hotly contested Nairobi gubernatorial seat, beating his closest rival for the seat, Mr Ferdinand Waititu of TNA.
