Kalonzo urges leaders to promote peace

Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has urged political leaders to promote peace and reconciliation amongst Kenyans.

Mr Musyoka said that it is prudent for all leaders including those seeking elective posts to promote peace, reconciliation and tolerance on divergent views in the society.

“I am happy that Kenyans are coming together, it is time to bury our past differences, stamp out tribal politics and embrace forgiveness, peace, healing and reconciliation,’ he said.

He said that the ongoing political parties coalitions are a blessing to the nation as it would lead to positive transformation.

The Vice President was speaking on Sunday at the Global Worship Centre in Kiserian, Kajiado County, during a special offertory and ordination of church elders.

Mr Musyoka also asked the church and other faith based organisations to pray for the country as it prepares for the General Election and the countries silver jubilee celebrations.

Mr Musyoka said that Africa has great potential for economic growth and prosperity under the right leadership.

‘Kenyans can overcome poverty and despair if they elect trustworthy and right leadership which will oversee true transformation and a just society,” he said.

Hindu community reassured

Meanwhile, Mr Musyoka has assured the Hindu community in the country of their safety and urged those who had relocated to other countries due to insecurity to return back and join other Kenyans in transforming the Nation.

Mr Musyoka said that the Government had put elaborate measurers to guarantee its citizens of their security thus calling on the community to participate in strengthening the country’s economy in order to create wealth and jobs opportunities.

Mr Musyoka made the remarks during the inauguration ceremony of Shree Hindu Sanatan Mandir temple in Ruiru Township.

He urged the community to register as voters to enable them participate in shaping the destiny of the country by voting leaders of their choice.
